Retail Florist of the Year Contest
Wesley Berry Flowers has been selected as the recipient and will be featured in the October issue of Florist Review. This award is given to a florist for superior involvement in organizations and programs that benefit the community in which they are located.
Wesley Berry Flowers was chosen because of their long term commitment and support for numerous programs in the metro Detroit area. The flower shop is well known for their free rose give away on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (this year 15,000 roses) and then again on Good Neighbor Day (first Wednesday in September).
For the past four years they have been part of the State of Michigan’s Adopt-A-Highway program along M-5. In December they became a Certified Green Business.
Wesley Berry Flowers has long been a supporter of Rotary and Optimist Clubs. They have helped underwrite the Kids Holiday Party for over 120 kids sponsored by the West Bloomfield Optimist Club for the past several years. They support the United We Walk event each year in West Bloomfield.
The Retail Florist of the Year contest seeks out and salutes successful U.S. and Canadian florists. The contest is sponsored by Florists’ Review magazine and the Wholesale Florist and Florist Supplier Association.
